The United States and President Obama hosted the annual G8 Summit this past weekend in Camp David, MD, and ModSpace was there. We were selected by the State Department and approved by the U.S. Secret Service to provide this modular reception center to welcome foreign heads of state upon their arrival at Dulles International Airport.
The finished 5,760 square foot mobile office was operational three weeks after we were first contacted by the State Department. Once the building plan was approved, delivery and set up took just six days and included a 1,056 square foot media center adjacent to the main facility for members of the international press.
The buildings alone were only the start. The State Department needed the total package, and ModSpace delivered within the tight timeframe. In addition to the main reception area, security offices, meeting rooms, restrooms and a cafeteria, we also provided furniture throughout, decks, steps, ramps, holding tanks, electric generators, a press platform, and around-the-clock building maintenance.
We think this is a great example of the speed of modular. Please tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
