With 7.4 billion cubic feet of natural shale gas produced every day, the Marcellus Shale will soon be the “most productive natural gas field” in the U.S., according to a new article by the Associated Press.
Widespread extraction efforts throughout the formation started just five years ago. Today, the Shale that stretches across parts of Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio and West Virginia continues to gain momentum. In fact, Marcellus has more than doubled its shale gas production in the last year and now represents more than 25 percent of total domestic production.
